The Ice Dogs were led by junior right wing PATRICK O’KANE (Hollis, NH/Bishop Guertin/Williston-Northampton) who scored two of his team’s three goals.
MacKinnon opened the scoring at 5:06 of the first period on feeds from senior forward NICK SHEEHAN (Potsdam, NY) and senior forward ALEX HIGGINS (Phoenix, AZ/Kent School) made it 2-0 at 11:56.  Sophomore JUSTIN CASTAGNA (Los Alamitos, CA) and senior MATT RIGTRUP (Montclair, NJ) assisted on the play.
The Ice Dogs got on the scoreboard on-the-power-play as sophomore forward KYLE ZOBLER (Millbury, MA/New Hampton Prep) scored at 15:57 assisted by junior center TAYLOR LARSEN (Blackstone, MA/Blackstone/Worcester Academy).
Sophomore forward MORGAN BELL (Revelstoke, BC) put the Purple Knights back up by a two-goal margin at 17:25 from Sheehan before O’Kane’s first goal from junior defenseman KEVIN GLANZMAN (Massapequa, NY/Massapequa) and senior left wing PATRICK FITZGIBBONS (Worcester, MA/Saint John’s) just 41 seconds later brought the Ice Dogs closer.
O’Kane tied the game at 4:44 of the second period from senior forward MARC LABB (Longmeadow, MA/Vermont Academy), but MacKinnon scored what would prove to be the game-decider at 9:22. Sophomore forward ALEX DAVISON (South Burlington, VT/Saint Paul’s School) added an insurance goal for the Knights.
Junior goalkeeper NICK BLANCHETTE (Stuart, FL/Worcester Academy) made 12 saves in the first period for the Ice Dogs and freshman BOBBY BOWDEN (Springfield, MA/Williston-Northampton) (PICTURED RIGHT) had 15 over the final two periods.  Sophomore MIKE DIZGUN (Kirkland, QUE) made 29 saves for the Purple Knights.
