Greyhounds sixth in Assumption Invitational golf . . .

    SUTTON, Mass. --- Assumption College finished in sixth place in the Assumption College Golf Invitational TUESDAY at the Blackstone National Golf Club. Blackstone is a 6,909 yard, par 72 course.
    The Holy Cross White team won the event with a 294 total followed by Bentley (302), Holy Cross Purple (304), American International (304), Le Moyne (305), Assumption (310), Manhattan (310), Saint Rose (310), Franklin Pierce (319) and Anna Maria (347).
    Senior captain RICK BYLUND (Auburn, MA/Auburn), junior RICK GIOVINO (Medford, MA/Malden Catholic) and freshman DEVIN TARPEY (Melrose, MA/Malden Catholic) led the Greyhounds with 77s.  Senior RYAN MYERS (Foxboro, MA/Foxboro) had a  79 and freshman A.J. SIMOKAITIS (Falmouth, ME/Falmouth) carded an 85.
    Holy Cross standouts ROBERTO MACADO and TIM DI STEFANO each carded two-under 70s to take medalist honors.
    The Greyhounds are next in action at the Dowling College Invitational, September 24-25 at the Long Island National Golf Club in Riverhead. NY.
