Adelphi stops Greyhounds field hockey in NE-10 contest

WORCESTER, Mass. --- Junior forwards
JEANETTE HEIMERLE (Smithtown, NY/Smithtown West)
and JULIANNE GERBINO (Port Jefferson, NY/Earl L.
Vandermeulen) each scored two goals as Adelphi University defeated
Assumption College, 5-1, in Northeast-10 Conference field hockey
TUESDAY at the Multi-Sport Stadium.
Sophomore midfielder JESS MAC
DONALD (Morris, CT/Wamogo) scored for the
Greyhounds. Junior midfielder MEG DOW (West
Bridgewater, MA/West Bridgewater) assisted on the play.
Adelphi outshot the Greyhounds 9-6.
Senior goalkeeper DANIELLE
LUONGO (Northboro, MA/Algonquin) made two saves for the
Greyhounds, while junior LUCIA VIGLIOTTI
(Westbury, NY/W.T. Clarke) (57:28) and sophomore KRISTINE
PUZIO (Holbrook, NY/Sachem North) (12:32) combined to make
four saves for Adelphi.
Adelphi is now 11-6 overall and 6-2 in the
conference, while the Greyhounds are 0-16 and 0-9.
