No. 2 ranked Saint Rose stops Greyhound women's soccer, 3-1, in Northeast-10 Conference action

ALBANY, N.Y. --- The College of Saint Rose, ranked No. 2 in the latest NSCAA/Adidas Division II poll, remained undefeated defeating Assumption College, 3-1, in a Northeast-10 Conference women's soccer game here TUESDAY.

The Golden Knights are now 11-0 overall and 8-0 in the conference, while the Greyhounds saw their three-game win streak end and are now 5-5 overall and 5-4 in the conference.

Sophomore goalkeeper SUSAN COWAN (West Boylston, MA/West Boylston) (70:31) and senior SHANNON MURPHY (Charlton, MA/Saint Peter-Marian) (19:29) combined to make five saves in net to post the victory for the Golden Knights.

Junior goalkeeper LAUREN KEATING (Nashua, NH/Nashua North) had her string of three straight shutout victories snapped did make three saves for the Greyhounds.

Sophomore forward NICOLE D'ERRICO (Shrewsbury, MA/Shrewsbury) opened the scoring converting a crossing pass from her sister, sophomore forward GIANNA D'ERRICO (Shrewsbury, MA/Shrewsbury), for her third goal of the season at 19:04.

Sophomore midfielder KIMBERLY MORTON (Westerly, RI/Westerly) scored her second goal of the season at 27:08 heading a corner kick from sophomore midfielder CHRISTINA CUFFARI (Brick, NJ/Brick Memorial). It proved to the game-winner.

The Greyhounds got on-the-board in the second half at 56:20 as sophomore back CAT PANGIARELLA (Ludlow, MA/Ludlow) scored her first goal of the season deflecting a free kick from the right flank from junior midfielder KELSEY ABELEIN (Rochester, NY/Our Lady of Mercy).

Gianna D'Errico notched her third goal of the season at 62:57 from Cuffari on a header off a corner kick.

The Greyhounds host American International College in another Northeast-10 Conference game FRIDAY at 7 p.m. Saint Rose hosts Franklin Pierce SATURDAY at 1 p.m. in another conference game.
