Ustanowski goal leads Greyhound women's soccer past Saint Michael's, 1-0, in Northeast-10 Conference action

COLCHESTER, VT --- Senior forward EMILY UTANOWSKI (Berlin, CT/Berlin) scored her first goal of the season with just eight seconds left in the first half as Assumption Collge defeated Saint Michael???????s College, 1 0, in Northeast-10 Conference women's soccer action here SATURDAY.

Junior goalkeeper LAUREN KEATING (Nashua, NH/Nashua North) made five saves for the Greyhounds to earn her shutout of the season.

The Greyhounds are now 3-4-0 overall and 3-3-0 in the conference standings, while the Purple Knights fall to 2-7 and 1-5.

Ustanowski took a shot with 10 seconds remaining in the first half however Purple Knights junior defenseman JESS VALLEY (Essex Junction, VT/Essex) kept the ball from crossing the goal line, but Ustanowski retrieved the rebound for her second shot, this time finding the back of the net.

Purple Knights sophomore ASHLEIGH ADAMS (Milton, VT/Milton) had five saves.

The Greyhounds outshot the Knights, 11-10 and had a 6-5 edge in corner kicks.

The Greyhounds are next in action WEDNESDAY when they host conference rival LE MOYNE at 3:30 p.m. Saint Michael???????s is at Bentley University WEDNESDAY at 3:30 p.m.
