Lauren Keating, Molly Kessler lead Greyhound women's soccer past SNHU, 1-0, in Northeast-10 Conference action

MANCHESTER, NH --- Junior goalkeeper LAUREN KEATING (Nashua, NH/Nashua North) made made two saves to post the shutout as Assumption College defeated Southern New Hampshire, 1-0, in a Northeast-10 Conference game here SATURDAY.
The Greyhounds have now won their last three games, all by shutout scores, over Northeast-10 Conference competition. In order, they have wins at Saint Michael's (1-0), Le Moyne (3-0) and at Southern New Hampshire (1-0).
Assumption, now 5-4 overall and 5-3 in the conference, is tied for fourth place with Merrimack, Saint Anselm and Adelphi---all with 15 points. Southern New Hampshire is now 3-7-3 overall and 1-5-3 (6 points) in the conference.
Keating has not allowed a goal in 270 minutes and just one, that ending a double-overtime loss at Massachusetts Lowell, over the last five games. She lowered her goals-against average to a stingy 0.76 with an .875 save percentage (49 saves in 832 minutes).
Freshman defender MOLLY KESSLER (Hopkinton, MA/Hopkinton) scored the games lone goal, her second of the season, off a deflection by Penmen goalkeeper SNHU goalkeeper STEF YOUNG (Natick, MA/Natick) (four saves). Senior midfielder CARINA RUSSO (North Dartmouth, MA/Dartmouth) assisted on the play at 31:17.
Assumption College outshot the Penmen, 8-5, in the defensive oriented game dictated by steady rain and owned a 4-1 edge in corner kicks.
The Greyhounds are next in action TUESDAY at the College of Saint Rose at 4:15 p.m. Southern New Hampshire hosts Saint Michael's, also on TUESDAY, at 7 p.m.
