C.W. Post defeats Hounds women's soccer, 2-1

L.I.U.-C.W. Post 2, Assumption 1

BROOKVILLE, NY --- Junior forward MELISSA PASCARELLA (Sayville, NY/Sayville) scored her third goal of the season in the 71st minute to lift L.I.U.-C.W. Post past Assumption College, 2-1, in non conference women's soccer action here SUNDAY.

Junior forward QAROLINE NAHL (Kumla, Sweden/Rudbecksskolan) scored off an assist from senior midfielder LINDSAY NICK (Hauppauge, NY/Hauppage) at 18:45 to give the Pioneers a quick 1-0 advantage.

Assumption tied the game in the latter stage of the first half as sophomore forward KIRSTEN CHIRICHETTI (Billerica, MA/Billerica) scored an unassisted goal off a rebounds in front. It was her second goal of the season.

Pascarella scored the game-decider on a feed from junior forward IVANA BABIC (Haninge, Sweden/Tyreso Gymnasium).

C.W. Post outshot the Greyhounds, 10-3, while the teams each had three corner kicks.

The Greyhounds are next in action WEDNESDAY when they host Northeast-10 Conference rival Adelphi at 3:30 p.m.
