Lauren Keating's fourth shutout stops Le Moyne as Greyhounds women's soccer moves into NE-10 playoff picture

WORCESTER, Mass. --- Junior goalkeeper LAUREN KEATING (Nashua NH/Nashua North) posted her second straight shutout and fourth overall with three saves as Assumption College defeated Le Moyne College, 3-0, in Northeast-10 Conference women's soccer action WEDNESDAY at the Multi-Sport Stadium.

With the victory the Greyhounds, now 4-4 overall and 4-3 in conference play have 12 points (3 points for each win) an are tied for fifth place in the standings with Merrimack and Saint Anselm. The top eight teams earn a postseason playoff berth. All four of the wins this season have come as the result of shutouts by Keating. Le Moyne is now 6-3-2 overall and 3-3-2 in the conference (11 points).

The Greyhounds scored all three of their goals in the second half outshooting the Dolphins 8-6 over the final 45 minutes.

Senior midfielder KELLEY DE WALT (Londonderry, NH/Londonderry) scored the game-winner on a penalty kick in the 69th minute. She fired a hard shot to the upper right corner of the net over the outstretched hands of Dolphins sophomore goalkeeper MELISSA STEVENS (Camillus, NY/West Genesee). Stevens finished the game with four saves.

Sophomore forward KIRSTEN CHIRICHETTI (Billerica, MA/Billerica) scored the first of two insurance goals at 77:16 on a nice lead pass from freshman back MOLLY KESSLER (Hopkinton, MA/Hopkinton). Freshman midfielder ERIN KINBACK (Shrewsbury, MA/Shrewsbury) scored at 79:35 as sophomore back CAT PANGIARELLA (Ludlow, MA/Ludlow) sent her in alone.

The Greyhounds are next in action SATURDAY when they travel to Northeast-10 Conference rival Southern New Hampshire at 1 p.m. Le Moyne hosts Saint Michael's at 12 noon.
