Hounds in scoreless women's soccer duel with Adelphi

WORCESTER, Mass. --- Junior goalkeeper LAUREN KEATING (Nashua, NH/Nashua North) made 11 saves to post her seventh shutout as Assumption College earned a 0-0 double-overtime women's soccer Northeast-10 Conference tie with Adelphi University WEDNESDAY at the Multi-Sport Stadium.

The Greyhounds are now 6-6-1 overall and 6-4-1 in the conference, while Adelphi is 8-4-1 and also 6-4-1. The Hounds are tied with Merrimack (6-3-1) and Adelphi for fourth place in the standings. Merrimack does play Franklin Pierce (9-2, 27 points) Wednesday night. The top eight teams make the conference postseason playoffs.

Keating has now lowered her stingy goals-against average to 0.90 with 68 saves in 1197 minutes this season.

Sophomore goalkeeper DOROTHY CONNOLLY (Bethpage, NY/Long Island Lutheran) made four saves for the Panthers.

Adelphi outshot the Greyhounds 21-10 and enjoyed a 12-1 edge in corner kicks.

The Greyhounds are next in action when they travel to Northeast-10 Conference rival Bentley University SATURDAY at 3:30 p.m. Adelphi plays at Franklin Pierce, also Saturday, at 3 p.m.
