PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y. --- Senior guard JANELLE BIAMONTE (Secaucus, NJ/Marist) scored 23 points and junior forward QUAY BASKERVILLE (Hartford, CT/Bulkeley/Globe Tech) added 11 points including five straight in overtime as Felician College defeated Assumption College, 67-64, in the first round of the Pace University Mixer in the Goldstein Fitness Center MONDAY.

Sophomore forward KELLY MEREDITH (Franklin, MA/Franklin) scored a season-high 20 points and added eight rebounds to lead four double-figure scorers for the Greyhounds. Freshman guard GABRIELLE GIBSON (Amityville, NY/Copiague) (13 points), senior forward KAYLA PARKER (Sanford, ME/Sanford) (11 points, seven rebounds) and senior guard MAEGAN COOK (Braintree, MA/Braintree) (10 points) all played well in support roles for the Hounds.

The Greyhounds found themselves behind by seven points, 53-46, with 8:35 left after Baskerville converted a jumper in the lane.

Meredith started the comeback with a layup off a feed from senior guard JACKIE BRANCA (Hanson, MA/Whitman-Hanson) and then Gibson converted inside on a feed from junior forward MOLLY GRIFFITHS (Walpole, MA/Ursuline). She then made two free throws and her layup with 5:01 put the Greyhounds in front, 54-53.

Felician sophomore guard DESTINY BARNETTE (Paterson, NJ/PCTI) tied the game making one of two free throw attempts before Gibson put the Greyhounds back up by two points with a wing jumper. A free throw by Parker made it a three-point game setting the stage for Biamonte's three-pointer with nine seconds left to tie it at 57-57. Junior guard TIERRA CLEAVES (Paterson, NJ/JFK-Paterson) missed a free throw with one second left that would have won it for the Golden Falcons.

In overtime Baskerville tied the game at 61-61 with a pair of free throws and then buried a long three-pointer to give Felician a three-point lead (64-61) with 1:00 left. Meredith scored inside with 19 seconds left before Barnette and Gibson traded free throws. Cleaves made two free throws with 14 seconds left for Felician and freshman guard KATY HOWARD (Medway, MA/Medway) rimmed a three-pointer at the buzzer for the Hounds.

The Greyhounds, now 7-3 overall, will play Bloomfield, NJ TUESDAY at 2 p.m. in the second day of this event and then on January 2 travel back to Pleasantville, NY for a Northeast-10 Conference game with Pace University.
