Stonehill stops Greyhound volleyball in Northeast-10 Conference action

WORCESTER, Mass. --- Sophomore outside hitter LAURA HUSELTON (Penfield, NY/Penfield) had 12 kills and five digs to lead Stonehill College past Assumption College, 3-0, in Northeast-10 Conference women's volleyball action TUESDAY night the Laska Gym.

The Skyhawks prevailed 25-22, 25-20 and 25-12 to improve their overall record to 11-5 and 6-1 in the conference. The Greyhounds are now 1-13 and 0-7.

Junior middle hitter AIMEE DRAINVILLE (Rockville, RI/Chariho) led the Hounds with eight kills, while senior setter KELLY BLUMENAUER (Islip Terrace, NY/East Islip) added 20 assists. Freshman libero STEPH WHOOTEN (Norton, MA/Bishop Feehan) had 10 digs.

Playing well for the Skyhawks in support roles were junior setter ANDREA WIRTH (Mesa, AZ/Saint Mary's) (32 assists), junior defensive specialist JUSTINE THOMPSON (Merrimack, NH/Bishop Guertin) (17 digs, 3 service aces) and junior middle blocker LAURA NOONAN (Hampstead, NH/Bishop Guertin) (9 kills).

The Greyhounds are next in action SATURDAY when they host Southern New Hampshire University at 6 p.m. in another conference match.
