Pace stops Greyhound volleyball, 3-0, in Northeast-10 Conference action

WORCESTER, Mass. --- Junior middle blocker VICTORIA POMPILUS (Mount Vernon, NY/Mount Vernon) had 11 kills and sophomore setter SHEA HANSEN (Mesa, AZ/Red Mountain) added 28 set assists as Pace University defeated Assumption College, 3-0, in Northeast-10 Conference women's volleyball action SUNDAY in the Laska Gym.

The Setters improved their overall record to 6-5 and are now 1-1 in conference play. The Greyhounds are now 1-8 overall and 0-2 in the conference.

Junior libero STEPHANIE KAZMIERCZA (Buffalo, NY/City Honors) (14 digs) and freshman outside hitter NORA RUGOVA (Mount Kisco, NY/Fox Lane) (10 digs) led the Setters defensively.

For the Greyhounds junior middle hitter AIMEE DRAINVILLE led the offense with six kills and the defense with eight digs, while senior setter KELLY BLUMENAUER had 18 set assists.

Pace prevailed in the games: 25-19, 25-10 and 25-14.

The Greyhounds are next in action TUESDAY when they travel to the University of New Haven for another conference matchup at 7 p.m.
