GAME ONE

Franklin Pierce 3, Assumption 0

Senior middle blocker CAITLYNN PARNELL (Medina, TX/Medina) had nine kills and sophomore outside hitter DANA ROWINSKI (Dix Hills, NY/Our Lady of Mercy) added eight as Franklin Pierce University opened its season with a 3-0 win over Assumption College in a non-conference match in the first game of the Assumption College Labor Day Mixer SATURDAY at the Plourde Recreation Center.

The Greyhounds had six kills and a .429 hitting percentage from senior outside hitter COURTNEY STRATTON (Hudson, NH/Alvirne) and junior middle hitter AIMEE DRAINVILLE (Rockville, RI/Chariho) added five kills and three service aces.

The Ravens prevailed 25-19, 25-13 and 25-23 in the three-game match. The team compiled a .359 hitting percentage (30-7--64) in the match.

Junior setter PAMELA WALKER (Chino Hills, CA/Mt. San Antonio) had 19 set assists for the Ravens, while Parnell and Rowinski each had five digs.

For the Greyhounds senior setter KELLY BLUMENAUER (Islip Terrace, NY/East Islip) finished with eight set assists and freshman libero STEPH WHOOTEN (Norton, MA/Bishop Feehan) had six digs.

GAME TWO

Stonehill 3, Franklin Pierce 1

Junior middle blocker LAURA NOONAN (Hampstead, NH/Bishop Guertin) had 14 kills and a .423 hitting percentage and sophomore outside hitter LAURA HUSELTON (Penfield, NY/Penfield) added 14 kills and 10 digs to lead Stonehill College past Franklin Pierce University, 3-1, in a non-conference match in the second game of the Assumption College Labor Day Mixer SATURDAY at the Plourde Recreation Center.

Sharing the spotlight for the Skyhawks was junior setter ANDREA WIRTH (Mesa, AZ/Saint Mary's) with 46 set assists and 11 digs while junior defensive specialist JUSTINE THOMPSON (Merrimack, NH/Bishop Guertin) finished with 29 digs. Stonehill had an amazing 80 digs in the match.

Franklin Pierce won the first game (25-23) and then Stonehill dominated winning 25-14, 25-16 and 25-18.

Junior setter PAMELA WALKER (Chino Hills, CA/Mt. San Antonio) had 30 set assists and eight digs for the Ravens, while senior middle blocker MEGAN FELDMETH (South Pasadena, CA/South Pasadena) finished with 10 kills. Junior libero CHELSIE KOHOUT (Harrison Township, MI/L'Anse Creuse) had 16 digs---the Ravens had 69 for the match.

GAME THREE

Stonehill 3, Assumption 0

Junior right side ERIN JOHNSON (Centerville, MA/Barnstable) registered 10 kills and three digs to lead Stonehill College past Assumption College, 3-0, in a non-conference match in the third game of the Assumption College Labor Day Mixer SATURDAY at the Plourde Recreation Center.

Stonehill dominated the match winning 25-17, 25-14 and 25-20.

The Skyhawks got a solid support performance from junior setter ANDREA WIRTH (Mesa, AZ/Saint Mary's) with 26 set assists and six digs, while sophomore outside hitter LAURA HUSELTON (Penfield, NY/Penfield) had nine digs.

The Greyhounds received a strong performance from junior middle hitter AIMEE DRAINVILLE (Rockville, RI/Chariho) with nine kills, while senior setter KELLY BLUMENAUER (Islip Terrace, NY/East Islip) had 22 set assists and four digs. Freshman libero STEPH WHOOTEN (Norton, MA/Bishop Feehan) had nine digs.
