Merrimack defeats Hound volleyball in Northeast-10 match

WORCESTER, Mass. --- Freshman outside hitter SHAUNDA FORCIER (Gonic, NH/Spaulding) and junior outside hitter MOLLY CINDRIC (Westlake Village, CA/Oaks Christian) each had nine kills as Merrimack College defeated Assumption College, 3-0, in Northeast-10 Conference women???????s volleyball action THURSDAY night in the Laska Gym.

Merrimack previled 25-21, 25-13 and 25-15 in the three-game match to improve its overall record to 21-11 and its conference slate to 8-7. The Greyhounds are now 2-19 and 1-13.

Junior middle hitter AIMEE DRAINVILLE (Rockville, RI/Chariho) paced the Greyhounds with nine kills while senior setter KELLY BLUMENAUER (Islip Terrace, NY/East Islip) ended with 13 set assists. Freshman libero STEPH WHOOTEN (Norton, MA/Bishop Feehan) (14 digs) and senior JESSICA HALLER (Meriden, CT/Maloney) (13 digs) also played well in support roles.

The Greyhounds conclude their season FRIDAY night at the University of Massachusetts Lowell in another conference match beginning at 7 p.m.
