American International stops Greyhounds volleyball, 3-1, in Northeast-10 Conference match

WORCESTER, Mass. --- Freshman outside hitter TAILA DE SOUZA (Cunupia, Trinidad/Saint Joseph's) and junior middle blocker ALICIA SMITH (Bridgetown, Barbadoes/St. Winfred's) each had 10 kills as American International College defeated Assumption College, 3-1, in Northeast-10 Conference womens volleyball action TUESDAY night in the Laska Gym.
American International is now 11-6 overall and 4-4 in conference matches, while the Gryehounds are now 1-11 and 0-5.
Game Scores: American International prevailed 25-13, 25-18, 21-25, and 25-13.
Sophomore setter KERVELLE REDHEAD (St. James, Trinidad/Saint Joseph's) was superb with 33 set assists, while junior outside hitter KAMBRYN WILLIAMS (Pomona, CA/Pomona) had 18 digs.
For the Greyhounds junior middle hitter AIMEE DRAINVILLE (Rockville, RI/Chariho) was outstanding with 16 kills, while senior setter KELLY BLUMENAUER (Islip Terrace, NY/East Islip) played well in a support role with 26 set assists and four service aces. Freshman libero STEPH WHOOTEN (Norton, MA/Bishop Feehan) had 15 digs.
American International is now 11-6 overall and 4-4 in conference matches, while the Gryehounds are now 1-11 and 0-5.
The Greyhounds are next in action SATURDAY when they travel to Northeast-10 Conference rival Adelphi University at 1 p.m.. American International is at Pace University at 1 p.m. in another conference game.
