Scott, Mock run 1-2 in Smith College 55-meters for Hounds track

NORTHAMPTON, Mass. --- Senior BERNARD SCOTT (Saint Petersburg, FL/Admiral Farragut) and sophomore GEOF MOCK (Sicklerville, NJ/Timber Creek) finished one-two in the 55-meter dash final to highlight the Assumption College mens results in the Tartan Invitational Track Meet hosted by Smith College here Saturday.

Scott finished the final at 6.49, just .02 off his team-record 6.47 set at the Tartan Invitational in 2008. He also ran a 6.49 earlier this season winning the event at the Wesleyan University Invitational. Mock tied his career-best at 6.60 finishing behind Scott, both teammates on the Assumption College football team. Mock also ran a 23.77 to finish seventh in the 200-meter event.

Senior CHRIS O'DAY (Braintree, MA/Braintree) ran a career-best 2:40.89 in finishing eighth in the 1,000-meter event, while senior KEVIN DABREIO (Billerica, MA/Billerica) was ninth in the shot put (12.19m) and freshman JOHN CONLEY (Andover, MA/Andover) ran a career-best 2:14.05 in the 800-meter event.

The Greyhound men finished seventh overall with 24 points, while the women ended 11th with 14 points.

Freshman CAITLIN PAULIN (Agawam, MA/Agawam) ran a pair of career-bests in the 400-meter event (1:13.49) and the high jump (1.40m), while senior ALICIA KING (Stoughton, MA/Stoughton) did a career-best in the 55-meters (8.21) to highlight the womens results.

Freshman MOLLY KESSLER (Hopkinton, MA/Hopkinton) did a career-best in the 600 meters (1:43.60) and set her second team record in two weeks. Last week at the Wesleyan Invitational she set the team mark for the 800-meter event (2:22.69).

Freshman LILY JORGE (Warwick, RI/Pilgrim) ran a career-best in the 400 meters (1:12.02) and the 55-meter hurdles (9.31) and freshman CATHERINE GRIFFIN (Columbia, CT/East Catholic) a career-best in the 3,000-meters (12:31.46).

The Greyhounds are at the FasTRACK Classic hosted by Boston University Friday and Saturday.
