Scott Buckholz scores two goals as Greyhounds men's soccer defeats Queens, 2-1

WORCESTER, Mass. --- Sophomore midfielder SCOTT BUCKHOLZ (Seymour, CT/Seymour) scored his first two goals of the season as Assumption College defeated Queens, NY College, 2-1, in a non conference men???s soccer game TUESDAY at the Multi-Sport Stadium.
Junior goalkeeper BRANDON SULLIVAN (Halesite, NY/Saint Dominic???s) made five saves in net for the Greyhounds, now 6-2 overall.
Queen???s opened the scoring in the first half as senior midfielder MUJIBULLAH MASHRIQI (Flushing, NY/Flushing) scored at 18:33 on a penalty kick.
The Greyhounds tied the game at 43:11 as Buckholz took a lead pass from junior midfielder COLIN LYNCH (Weymouth, MA/Weymouth), walked in and found the lower right corner for his first goal.
Assumption would get the game-winner just 9:36 into the second half as Buckholz scored again, this time with sophomore midfielder JUSTIN PUGLIESE (Pembroke, MA/Pembroke) assisting.
The Greyhounds and Queen???s each had 14 shots on goal and one corner kick each.
Junior goalkeeper JULIO GASTON RODRIGUEZ (Oakland Gardens, NY/Cardozo) made two saves in net for Queens.
Queens, which had a six-game win streak snapped, is now 6-3 overall. They host Nyack WEDNESDAY (September 30) at 4 p.m.
The Greyhounds are next in action when they host Northeast-10 Conference rival Saint Michael???s College FRIDAY (September 25) at 7 p.m. as a kickoff to Fall Homecoming weekend.
