Brandan Sullivan extends scoreless streak for men's soccer as Dom Mondi's OT goal stops New Haven, 1-0, in Northeast-10 Conference action

WORCESTER, Mass. --- Freshman forward DOM MONDI (Peabody, MA/Peabody) scored the game's only goal in overtime and junior goalkeeper BRANDAN SULLIVAN (Halesite, NY/Saint Dominic) continued his scoreless string intact as Assumption College defeated the University of New Haven, 1-0, in Northeast-10 Conference mens soccer here TUESDAY at the Multi-Sport Stadium.

Mondi, who scored his first career goal against Felician Saturday, slipped a shot past Charger sophomore goalie JONATHAN CREEM (Naugatuck, CT/Naugatuck) at 95:40 on a nice feed from fellow freshman midfielder TOM CARROLL (Belford, NJ/Middletown North) to final settle the defensive struggle.

While the Greyhounds outshot the Chargers, 13-2, there were only six saves registered in the game, four by Creem and just two by Sullivan. New Haven held a slight 5-4 advantage in corner kicks.

Sullivan's shutout was his third straight this season---he has played 275:40 this season woithout allowing a score and has allowed just one goal in his last five games (475:40) dating back to last season. He extended his Greyhound record regular-season scoreless string to 465:37.

The team mark for consecutive shutouts in four, the final four games of the 2000 ECAC Tournament championship season.

The Chargers, now 1-2 overall and 0-2 in conference play, are at the University of Massachusetts Lowell SATURDAY at 1 p.m. in another conference matchup.

The Greyhounds, now 3-1 with three straight victories, travel to Northeast-10 Conference rival Saint Anselm College FRIDAY at 4 p.m.
