Saint Michael's rallies to beat Hounds men's lacrosse

WORCESTER, Mass --- Sophomore midfielder SEAN LEAHY (Grainger, IN/Saint Joseph's) scored four goals and freshman attack PETER DONNALLY (Madison, NJ/Morristown-Beard) added three goals as Saint Michael's College rallied in the second half to defeat Assumption College, 13-9, in Northeast-10 Conference men's lacrosse here Saturday at the Multi-Sport Stadium.
Sophomore midfielder TOM GUIDO (Manorville, NY/Eastport South Manor) scored three of his four goals in the first half as the Greyhounds moved to a 7-4 advantage. Senior attack KEVIN KLASKIN (Norfolk, MA/Xaverian) added three goals for the Greyhounds, while sophomore midfielder JOHN MITCHELL (Southington, CT/Southington) (with two assists) and junior attack WILL LANGEVIN (Concord, MA/Concord Carlisle) added single goals.
Junior SCOTT VOGEL (Powell, OH/Olentangy-Liberty) and senior DAN SHEA (Wrentham, MA/King Philip) combined for 12 saves for the Greyhounds, while senior ZACH JANDL (Brookline, NH/Vermont Academy) had 14 saves for the Purple Knights.
Saint Michael's outshot the Greyhounds (33-29) however Assumption had a 30-20 edge in ground balls.
The Greyhounds now 4-8 overall and 0-8 in the conference are at conference rival Franklin Pierce University Monday at 7 p.m.
