GOFFSTOWN, NH --- Junior forward MIKE BALDARELLI (Sutton, MA/Holy Name) had 21 points to lead Assumption College past Saint Anselm College, 75-63, in conference mens basketball game Tuesday at the Stoutenburg Gymnasium. The win was the third straight for the Greyhounds, while snapping a five-game win streak for the Hawks.
Sophomore forward TIM BEINERT (Floral Park, NY/Holy Cross) added 16 points, while freshman forward RONSON QUICK (Marlton, NJ/Cherokee), the Northeast-10 Conference Freshman-of-the-Week, added 14 points, including 12 in the first half, Senior center SAVOY FRAINE (Grenada Hills, CA/Grenada Hills) added 10 points and eight rebounds, all in the second half.
The Greyhounds sped to a 38-29 halftime advantage and never trailed behind Quick (12 points) and Beinert (10 points). Junior guard THOMAS BAUDINET (Watertown, CT/Taft School), who led the Hawks with 21 points, had nine in the first half.
The Hounds played well defensively holding the usually sharpshooting Hawks to a 34 percent floor accuracy (19-for-56) and outrebounded the 38 32.
The Greyhounds are now 10-9 overall and 7-7 in the conference, while Saint Anselm is now 12-7 and 8-6. The Greyhounds are next in action Saturday when they host Northeast-10 Conference rival Southern New Hampshire University. Tapoff is scheduled for 3:30 p.m. in the Laska Gym.
