WORCESTER, Mass. --- Junior forward MICKEY LANG (Reno, NV) scored three goals to lead Manhattanville past Assumption College in the championship game of the Assumption College Holiday Tournament WEDNESDAY at the Buffone Rink.

Becker College won the third-place game, 5-2, over SUNY-Canton as sophomore defenseman JEREMY NARDUCCI (Apex, NC) scored two goals.

Sophomore goalkeeper PIERRE-OLIVIER LEMIEUX (Rimouski, Quebec) was named the tournament outstanding player while the all-tournament team consisted of Assumption sophomore forward PAT O'KANE (Hollis, NH/Bishop Guertin); Manhattanville junior forward MICKEY LANG (Reno, NV) and senior forward NIKLAS BERNTSSON (Gothenburg, Sweden); Becker sophomore defenseman JEREMY NARDUCCI (Apex, NC) and SUNY-Canton senior defenseman SCOTT ZARYSKI (Oswego, NY).

After a scoreless first period dominated by the goalkeeping of Greyhound sophomore NICK BLANCHETTE (Stuart, FL/Worcester Academy) (19 saves) the Greyhounds took a 1-0 lead as freshman forward KEVEN MEEHAN (Melrose, MA/Austin Prep) scored on the power play at 6:08 of the second period. Sophomore forward PAT O'KANE (Hollis, NH/Bishop Guertin) and junior forward PAT FITZGIBBONS (Worcester, MA/Saint John's) assisted on the goal.

The Valiants then answered with four unanswered goals, two by Lang to move in front 4-1. Freshman forward BRETT SKALSKI (Exton, PA) scored a shorthanded goals at 7:42 before Lang converted at 10:28 and again at 12:00 on the power play. Sophomore forward EVAN MICHALCHUK (Edmonton, Alberta) finished the period with an unassisted goal with five seconds left.

Freshman forward DEREK SERDACHNY (Yorktown, Saskatchewan) and Lang added insurance goals in the third period.

Blanchette finished with 30 saves in 44:44, while sophomore STEVE DI DOMENICO (Lowell, MA/Lowell) finished with eight saves over the final 15:16. Sophomore PIERRE-OLIVIER LEMIEUX (Rimouski, Quebec) made 21 saves in goal for the Valiants.

Assumption, 5-6-0, overall, is next in action January 7 when they tracel to Framingham State for a 7:20 p.m. opening faceoff at the Loring Arena. Manhattanville is now 10-4-0.
