Becker stops Ice Dogs, 3-1, in non-league game

MARLBORO, Mass. --- Sophomore goalkeeper JAKE ROSENTHAL (Wantagh, NY) made 28 saves as Becker College defeated Assumption College, 3-1, in a non-conference men's ice hockey game Saturday night at the New England Sports Center.
Freshman forward MARK LOTITO (Staten Island, NY) scored the game-winner in the second period as the Hawks improved their record to 6-7-1. Freshman defender ZACH ROBINSON (Plymouth, MA) and freshman forward DAVID GRAHAM (Rancho Cucamongo, CA) were credited with assists on the goal at 5:31.
Becker took a 1-0 lead as freshman forward BRANDEN PARKHOUSE (Rancho Cucamongo, CA) scored his fifth goal of the season unassisted 1:52 into the second period. The Greyhounds tied the game as freshman left wing RYAN DAVENPORT (Cabin John, MD/Pomfret Academy) scored his first career goal from freshman forrward MARK SPARACO (Melrose, MA/Bishop Fenwick) and senior forward JAMES CAPULLI (Hampstead, NH/Pinkerton Academy) at 4:38. Lotito's game-winner came les that a minute later.
Becker sophomore forward NATE SAYER (Dracut, MA) scored his fourth goal of the season from sophomore forward BRIAN MURRAY (Manalapan, NY) and freshman forward RON PAIVA (Rehoboth, MA) to provide the final two-goal margin.
Sophomore goalkeeper NICK BLANCHETTE (Stuart, FL/Worcester Academy) made 27 saves for the Greyhounds. Becker outshot the Greyhounds, 30-29.
The Greyhounds, now 6-6-1 overall, are next in action Wednesday as they host non-conference rival Nichols College at the Buffone Rink. Becker hosts Franklin Pierce Friday.
