Merrimack stops Greyhound field hockey in Northeast-10 Conference

WORCESTER, Mass. --- Freshman midfielder JEN OTIS (Penacook, NH/Merrimack) scored three consecutive goals to lead Merrimack College past Assumption College, 7-2, in Northeast-10 Conference field hockey action FRIDAY at the Multi-Sport Stadium.

Senior forward SARAH RANIERI (Bellingham, MA/Bellingham) led the Greyhounds with a goal and an assist.

Merrimack improves to 9-6 overall and 4-2 in conference action, while the Greyhounds drop to 3-10 overall and 1-6 in the conference.

Senior midfielder KATELIN GISONNO (Georgetown, MA/Georgetown) opened the scoring for the Warriors with an unassisted goal in a scramble in the goal area at the 19:41 mark.

Otis then scored three straight goals in 3:22 to put the game in the Warriors control, 4-0. Ranieri scored a goal at 25:10 for the Greyhounds.

After senior forward JACLYN GERMANO (Westwood, MA/Westwood) scored an unassisted goal for the Warriors at 62:55, junior forward BRITTANY BOYLE (Grafton, MA/Grafton) scored from Ranieri.

The Greyhounds outshot the Warriors, 15-11, and enjoyed a 9-6 advantage in penalty corners.

The Greyhounds are next in action SUNDAY at 1 p.m. when they host American International College in another Northeast-10 Conference game
