Dupuis, Migrants named pre-season baseball all-America

WORCESTER, Mass. --- Assumption College senior closer TIM DUPUIS (West Suffield, CT/Suffield High) and senior outfielder DEREK MIGRANTS (Ayer, MA/Ayer) have been named to the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association 2010 N.C.A.A. Division II preseason all-America team.
Dupuis earned first-team honors while Migrants was named on the third team. The Greyhounds, who finished with a team-record 34 wins last season (33-21. -1) and earned the program???s third N.C.A.A. Division II regional tournament berth will be among the favorites to repeat that success in 2010. They are scheduled to open their season March 5 in Auburndale, Florida against regional rival Gannon University. That doubleheader begins at 11 a.m.
Dupuis posted a 4-1 overall record (2.54 earned run average) in 2010 with a team single-season record 10 saves and 32 strike outs in 39 innings. He now holds the Greyhounds career mark with 17 saves to go with his 8-5 overall record and 2.11 earned run average.
The righthander was named to Northeast-10 Conference second-team, Daktronics East Region second-team and the Northeast-10 Conference playoffs all stars for his efforts in 2010.
Migrants batted .361 last year with 79 hits in 219 at bats along with seven homers, 17 doubles, six triples and a team-leading 61 runs batted in. He is just 11 hits shy of becoming the 10th 200-hit person in Greyhound baseball history. He is alos just 78 hits shy of former teammate MIKE BAILLARGEON (Worcester, MA/Holy Name) for the career hit record of 267.
Migrants was named to the Northeast-10 Conference first-team, the ABCA East region first-team and also played in the New England Division I-II-III all-star game in Brockton,
