Andrea Slaven named assistant field hockey coach at Assumption College

WORCESTER, Mass. --- Andrea Slaven of Danvers, MA, all-American player at Saint Michael's College, has been named assistant field hockey coach at Assumption College.
The announcement was made jointly by Amanda Heryla, head field hockey coach, and Ted Paulauskas, Director of Athletics.
Slaven was a standout performer for the Purple Knights earning first team all-America honors from the National Field Hockey Coaches Association and second-team honors from womensfieldhockey.com this past season. She was also named a first-team all-star by the coaches in the Northeast-10 Conference. She scored 13 goals (five assists) and had five game-winning goals in 2008 including one against the Greyhounds. She captained the team as a senior, left as the career scoring leader and also played in the NFHCA North-South all-star game.
She was named the Northeast-10 Conference and ECAC Division II Player-of-the-Year as a junior, earning NFHCA all-America honors as well. As a sophomore she led the conference in scoring and was named a second team all-star.
She was graduated from Saint Michael's College in May with a double major in History and Elementary Education and prepped at Bishop Fenwick High School (Peabody, MA).
