WORCESTER, Mass. --- Sophomore forward TINA GILLEN (East Bridgewater, MA/Carver) scored the game-tying and game-winning goals as Assumption College women's soccer team upset nationally ranked Southern New Hampshire University, 3-2, TUESDAY night in the Multi-Sport Stadium.

Southern New Hampshire University came into the match ranked No. 17 in this week's NSCAA national poll (and third in the regional poll).

The Greyhounds are now 6-5-1 overall and 3-4-1 in conference play, while Southern New Hampshire is now 6-2-2 overall and 5-2-1 in the conference. The Penmen win streak ended at six straight. The Greyhounds are 4-1-1 over their last six games.

Gillen tied the game at 2-2 for the Greyhounds at 64:01 collecting a header pass from junior midfielder KELLEY DE WALT (Londonderry, NH/Londonderry) and blasting a low line drive into the left corner. She then scored the game-winner with just 3:26 left. She took a crossing pass from freshman forward KIRSTEN CHIRICHETTI (Billerica, MA/Billerica) and scored over a prone Southern New Hampshire goalkeeper STEF YOUNG (Natick, MA/Marian). Gillen now has four goals this season.

Southern had moved to a quick lead as its leading scorer, senior forward SOPHIA SAINT PAUL (Brockton, MA/Brockton), notched her seventh goal of the season at 18:27 of the first half. Freshman midfielder ARIEL TEIXEIRA (Warren, RI/Mount Hope) sent Saint Paul in alone on Hounds' sophomore goalkeeper LAUREN KEATING (Nashua, NH/Nashua North) for a shot to the far post.

The Greyhounds however answered at 37:39 as DeWalt scored on a header off a corner kick. DeWalt is the Hounds' leading scorer with 5-4--14 points.

The Penmen retaliated at 38:54 as sophomore midfielder KRISTINA CARDOSO (Stoughton, MA/Stoughton) beat a prone Keating with a shot past the right post. Freshman forward EMILY DONAHUE (Bristol, RI/Mount Hope) assisted on the play.

Southern New Hampshire outshot the Greyhounds, 12-10, and held a slight 4-3 advantage in corner kicks. Young made two saves in net for Southern, while Keating had five saves for the Greyhounds.
