WORCESTER, Mass. --- Sophomore forward ANGELIKA JOHANSSON's (Falkenberg, Sweden/Sven-Eriksons Gymnasium) late first-half goal proved the difference in a Northeast-10 Conference game as Franklin Pierce, ranked No. 15 in this week's NSCAA national poll (second in the regional poll), moved past Assumption College, 2-1, SATURDAY at the Multi-Sport Stadium.

The Ravens with the win improve their record to 8-3-1 overall and 5-2-1 in the conference. The Greyhounds are now 6-6-1 overall and 3-5-1 in the conference.

Johansson's goal would follow less than two minutes later and give the Ravens a 2-0 lead at halftime.

Assumption made a late charge as sophomore forward TINA GILLEN (East Bridgewater, MA/Carver) took the ball in front of the net and shot to the right post past a diving goalie at 83:06.

The Greyhounds were kept in the game by exceptional play in the net behind sophomore goal keeper LAUREN KEATING (Nashua, NH/Nashua North) who made eight saves. Franklin Pierce outshot Assumption 15-7 and held a 7-2 advantage in corner kicks. Senior goalkeeper BRITTANY ESTER (Toms River, NJ/Toms River East) made two saves in net for the Ravens.
