Lauren Keating blanks Dowling as Greyhounds win 1-0 in women's soccer

BROOKHAVEN, NY --- Sophomore goalkeeper LAUREN KEATING (Nashua, NH/Nashau North) (PICTURED RIGHT) made six saves to post her third shutout of the season as the Assumption College women's soccer team defeated Dowling College, 1-0, in a non-conference match here SUNDAY.
The Greyhounds evened their record at 5-5-1 with the victory.
Junior midfielder/captain KELLEY DE WALT (Londonderry, NH/Londonderry) scored the games' lone goal soloing in on Dowling sophomore keeper ALICIA COMMISSO (Floral Park, NY/Sewanhaka) and beating her to the top right corner for her fourth goal of the season. Commisso made nine saves for the Golden Lions, now 5-3-3 overall.
DeWalt is the Greyhounds' leading scorer with 4-3--11 points, while Keating lowered her goals-against average to 1.16 in 932 minutes and improved her save percentage to .797.
The shots in the contest were even at 13-13, while Dowling enjoyed a 5-4 advantage in corner kicks.
Assumption College hosts Northeast-10 Conference rivals Southern New Hampshire (Tuesday at 7 p.m.) and Franklin Pierce (Sunday at 1 p.m.) both in the Multi-Sport Stadium.
