Franklin Pierce women's basketball edges Assumption in Northeast-10 Conference action

WORCESTER, Mass. --- Junior guard JOHANNAH LEEDHAM (Ellesmere Port, England/Cheshire, CT Academy) scored a game-high 24 points and her sister JENNIFER LEEDHAM (Ellesmere Port, England/Cheshire, CT Academy) added 21 points as Franklin Pierce University defeated Assumption College, 69-54, in Northeast-10 Conference women's basketball action WEDNESDAY night in the Laska Gym.
The victory clinched first-place for the Ravens, now 20-5 overall and 17-4 in the conference, while the Greyhounds are tied for fourth place with Pace and Bentley at 13-7 in conference play---a game behind Stonehill (14-6) and American International (14-6).
The Greyhounds have two games remaining in the regular-season, Saturday at Southern New Hampshire (10-10) and Tuesday when they host Bentley in their annual Senior Day.
Assumption College ended with three double-figure scorers including junior forward KAYLA PARKER (Sanford, ME/Sanford) (10 points), junior guard LESLIE LUPIEN (Pomfret, CT/Woodstock Academy) (10 points) and freshman forward KELLY MEREDITH (Franklin, MA/Franklin) (10 points, 6 rebounds).
The Greyhounds (15-10 overall and 13-7 conference) play next at Southern New Hampshire University Saturday at 1:30 p.m.
