Saint Michael's stops Greyhound volleyball, 3-0, in Northeast-10 Conference match

COLCHESTER, VT --- Saint Michael's College won its first Northeast-10 Conference match of the season downing Assumption College, 3-0, SATURDAY at the Ross Sports Center.
The Purple Knights won the match in three straight games, 25-15, 25-23 and 25-4. Saint Michael's is now 9-8 overall and 1-5 in the conference, while the Greyhounds fall to 2-8 overall and 0-5 in the conference.
Senior hitter ROSE HAGERT (Berlin, CT/Berlin) led the Purple Knights with 10 kills, while senior setter AMY MANOUGIAN (Rye, NH/Portsmouth) was superb with 24 set assists. Senior libero STEPHANIE SMETANA (Independence, MO/Truman) led all players with 12 digs.
For the Greyhounds sophomore outside hitter AIMEE DRAINVILLE (Rockville, RI/Chariho) had seven kills and sophomore setter recorded MARILISA STRAND (Sarasota, FL/Cardinal Mooney) helped with 19 assists. Junior libero KELLY BLUMENAUER (Islip Terrace, NY/East Islip) and junior middle hitter COURTNEY STRATTON (Hudson, NH/Alvirne) added 10 digs each for the Hounds.
Assumption is next in action Wednesday when they travel to Bentley University for a 7 p.m. match.
