Merrimack volleyball downs Greyhounds in Northeast-10 action, 3-0

WORCESTER, Mass. --- Merrimack College continued its dominant play in the Northeast-10 Conference with a 3-0 win over Assumption College in women's volleyball TUESDAY night at the Laska Gym.
With the victory the Warriors won their sixth straight match overall and improved their overall record to 14-7 and 8-0 in the conference.
Merrimack won by game scores: 25-12, 25-11 and 25-9.
Senior middle blocker ALE KUNCAITIS (Canton, MA/Canton) led the Warriors with 10 kills and 15 digs, while sophomore setter ELYSE LORENZ (Frankfort, IL/Lincoln-Way East) proved the perfect catalyst with 32 set assists.
Junior outside hitter JESSICA HALLER (Meriden, CT/Maloney) had six kills to lead the Greyhounds offense, while junior libero KELLY BLUMENAUER (Islip Terrace, NY/East Islip) finished with 20 digs. Sophomore setter MARILISA STRAND (Sarasota, F/Cardinal Mooney) added 15 set assists.
The Greyhounds are at Saint Anselm College Saturday at 11 a.m. in another Northeast-10 Conference match. Merrimack hosts Southern New Hampshire Friday at 7 p.m.
