American International College defeats Greyhound volleyball, 3-1, in Northeast-10 action

WORCESTER, Mass. --- Sophomore middle hitter ALICIA SMITH (Bridgetown, Barbadoes/Barbados) had 13 kills and freshman setter KERVELLE REDHEAD (St. James, Trinidad/St. Joseph's) added 41 set assists to lead American International College past Assumption College, 3-1, in Northeast-10 Conference women's volleyball action here SATURDAY in the Laska Gym.

The Yellow Jackets, who improved their overall record to 10-9 and their conference record to 6-2, won in four games: 25-19, 15-25, 25-23 and 25-21. The Greyhounds are now 2-12 overall and 0-9 in the conference.

Leading the Greyhounds were junior outside hitter COURTNEY STRATTON (Hudson, NH/Alvirne) with 11 kills and sophomore setter MARILISA STRAND (Sarasota, FL/Cardinal Mooney) with 45 set assists. Junior libero KELLY BLUMENAUER (Islip Terrace, NY/East Islip) and Strand each had 16 digs.

The Greyhounds host Northeast-10 Conference rival Merrimack College Tuesday at 7 p.m. in the Laska Gym.
