Greyhound track results at the New England Invitational

BOSTON, Mass. --- Junior BERNARD SCOTT (St. Petersburg, FL/Admiral Farragut) and sophomore ANTHONY DOWD (Somerset, MA/Somerset) both qualified in their preliminary races in the New England Invitational Track Meet SATURDAY at Boston University.
Scott finished 12th in the preliminary 55-yard dash in a time of 6.63, while teammate, freshman GEOFFREY MOCK (Sicklerville, NJ/Timer Creek) ran a 6.79 and failed to qualify. Scott then ran 6.64 to finish 12th in the semfinal of the event failing to qualify for the final.
In the 200-meters Scott (23.26) finished 27th and Mock (22.70) finished 22nd however failed to advance. Mock's time was just .04 off his team-record time of 22.66 seet in the Boston College Invitational (February 14, 2009).
Dowd qualified for the semifinal in the 55-yard hurdle event with an 8.15 time however retired before running in the semifinal.
The Greyhounds open their outdoor season at the Husky Classic at Northeastern University on March 21.
