Kevin Jurgens four goals lead Greyhound men's lacrosse past M.I.T. for Coach Mel McKee's first win!

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. --- Junior attack KEVIN JURGENS scored four goals and seven other Greyhounds got into the scoring column as Assumption College defeated M.I.T., 11-6, in a non-conference men's lacrosse game here WEDNESDAY at Steinbrenner Field.
The win is the first for first-year head coach MEL MC KEE.
After freshman attack WILL LANGEVIN (Concord, MA/Concord-Carlisle) scored for the Greyhounds, the Beavers got goals from senior attack RYAN BALLENTINE (Simbury, CT/Simsbury) and senior midfielder NEIL ZIMMERMAN (Dallas, TX/Greenhill School) to move to a 2-1 lead with 5:05 left in the second period.
Jurgens then scored two goals before halftime to give the Hounds at 3 2 advantage at the break. The Hounds then outscored the home team 5-3 in a wild third peirod before dominating the fourth period (3-1).
Zimmerman led the Beavers' attack with two goals.
Junior midfielder MATT FLETCHER (Peterborough, NH/Contoocock) led the Greyhounds with five ground balls, while Langevin added four.
Junior goalkeeper DAN SHEA (Wrentham, MA/King Philip) made 10 saves (15 shots) for the Hounds over 57:02, while sophomore goalie SCOTT VOGEL finished up with two saves (three shots). Junior goalkeeper GARTH GROVE (Jarrettsville, MD/North Harford) made 11 saves (22 shots) for M.I.T.
