Late goals earn Ice Dogs 2-2 overtime tie with Plymouth State

WORCESTER, Mass. --- Sophomore forward MATT SCIOLI (North Reading, MA/Bridgton, ME) and freshman forward TAYLOR LARSEN (Blackstone, MA/Worcester Academy) each scored power play goals in the final minutes of the third period as Assumption College came-from-behind to earn a 2-2 non-conference ice hockey overtime tie with Plymouth State University SATURDAY in the Buffone Rink.

Larsen put the Greyhounds on the scoreboard at 18:21 converting a pass from sophomore defenseman MARC LABB (Longmeadow, MA/Vermont Academy). It was Larsen's sixth goal of the seaosn.

Just 41 seconds later Scioli scored his third of the year, also on the power play, on a nice individual effort to tie the game at 2-2.

Freshman forward CHRIS ZAREMBA (Colorado Springs, CO/Liberty) scored his eighth goal of the season on a feed from freshman defenseman CHRIS MOHAR (Bloomfield, CO/Holy Family) at 16:55 of the first period to put Plymouth State ahead 1-0. Sophomore forward SEAN BUCKLEY (Saramore, MA/Lawrence Academy) made it 2-0 with his sixth goal of the season at 5:33 of the third period.

Freshman goalkeeper NICK BLANCHETTE (Stuart, FL/Worcester Academy) made 44 saves in net for the Greyhounds including four in the overtime period. Freshman ALLEN SCHNEIDER (Strongsville, OH) made 49 saves for the Panthers including four in overtime.

Assumption is now 3-10-4 and is off until it hosts Northeast-10 Conference rival Franklin Pierce University Saturday, January 31. Plymouth State is now 7-8-2 overall nad is next in action Thursday at Framingham State.
