Bentley stops Greyhound field hockey, 2-0, in season finale

WALTHAM, Mass. - Bentley University extended its win streak to 14 straight defeating Assumption College, 2-0, in the women's field hockey finale for the Greyhounds here yesterday in a Northeast-10 Conference game.

Bentley is now 15-5 overall and 15-3 in the conference, while the Greyhounds finished at 2-18 overall and 1-17 in the conference.

Junior forward NICOLE MURPHY (Dedham, MA/Dedham) scored both goals and junior goalkeeper ALYSSA SLINEY (Brewster, MA/Nauset) posted her sixth shutout of the season with four saves to pace the Falcons.

Murphy, who now has seven goals in her last five games and 10 for the season, opened the scoring with an unassisted goal at 30:37 and then nine minutes into the second half, she made it 2-0, with junior midfielder JENNA PENZONE (East Falmouth, MA/Falmouth) credited with the assist.

Sophomore goalkeeper DANIELLE LUONGO (Northboro, MA/Algonquin) recorded 11 saves for the Greyhounds.
