Saint Anselm edges Greyhounds in Northeast-10 Conference field hockey, 2-0

MANCHESTER, NH --- Saint Anselm scored two second-half goals to back the shutout goalkeeping of RILEY HADDOCK (Falmouth, ME/Falmouth) en route to a 2-0 win over Assumption College in Northeast 10 Conference field hockey action here THURSDAY.
The Hawks won both games against the Greyhounds by identical 2-0 scores.
Hawks' junior forward MADDIE CANTAROW (Norwood, MA/Norwood) opened the scoring at 48:51 on a feed from senior forward LAURA URKO (Attleboro, MA/Attleboro). Freshman forward SARA STERLING (Mansfield, MA/Mansfield) scored and insurance goal at 57:15 assisted by senior midfielder SAM ROWE (Chelmsford, MA/Chelmsford). Haddock made five saves in net.
Sophomore goalkeeper DANIELLE LUONGO (Northboro, MA/Algonquin) made five saves for the Greyhounds.
Saint Anselm improved its overall and conference record to 5-6, while snapping a four-game losing streak. The Greyhounds are now 2-10 overall and 1-9 in the conference.
Assumption outshot the Hawks, 14-13.
The Greyhounds are next in action Monday, October 6 when they travel to conference rival Merrimack College for a 3:30 p.m. game. Saint Anselm plays at Southern Connecticut State, in another Northeast-10 Conference game Saturday at 1 p.m.
