WORCESTER, Mass. --- Junior middle linebacker DUSTIN ZITZMANN (Pinellas Park, FL/Dixie Hollins) has been named to the Consensus Draft Services (CDS) Division II preseason all-America football team.

Zitzmann, who finished second in the Northeast-10 Conference in tackles last year, is the only Northeast-10 Conference defensive player on the elite squad.

He is also the only player in Greyhound history to have 100 tackles in each of his first two seasons with the program. He finished the 2007 season with 39-74--113 total tackles with six tackles-for-loss, 1.5 quarterback sacks, five passes defended and one pass pressure. He led the conference in tackles in 2006 with 107.

He had a career-high 20 tackles against Southern Connecticut this past season and overall had seven games with 10 or more. He earned weekly honors from the conference twice and was a second-team all-star and a Worcester Area Football first-team defender. He also earned third-team Football Gazette all-region honors.

The Greyhounds, under first-year head coach ADAM FULLER, open their 2008 season Saturday, August 30 at Division I-A Sacred Heart University in Fairfield, CT. Kickoff is at 1 p.m.
