Wilmington ends Hounds dream season in N.C.A.A. regional

RINDGE, NH --- Sophomore lefthander CAMERON SAIENNI (Wilmington, DE/McKean) pitched 6.1 strong innings allowing just six hits and striking out six to lead Wilmington, DE past Assumption College, 10 1, in the N.C.A.A. Division II East Regional here SATURDAY.
The game eliminated the Greyhounds from the tournament and finished their winningiest season in history at 33-21-1. Wilmington, DE, the CIAC champion, is now 29-27 and will face Adelphi at 10 p.m. Saturday night.
The Greyhounds scored their only run in the fourth inning to take a 1-0 advantage as junior centerfielder DEREK MIGRANTS (Ayer, MA/Ayer) singled and moved to third base on a misplay in the outfield and scored on an RBI single by sophomore catcher MIKE FOLEY (Worcester, MA/Saint John's).
Sophomore leftfielder JOSH DUFRESNE (Auburn, MA/Auburn) led the Greyhound offense with three singles, while Foley had a pair of singles. Freshman righthander JOE MARTINI (Arlington, MA/Arlington) allowed just six hits and two runs through five innings and junior lefthander ANDREW QUINN (Taunton, MA/Coyle Cassidy) allowed just one hit, a solo home run by sophomore outfielder MATT BOTTING (Newark, DE/Newark) in his three innings of relief.
The Wildcats took the lead in the fifth inning as sophomore first baseman MATT UMBRA (West Deptford, NJ/Gloucester Catholic) doubled home the tying run and sophomore third baseman DREW ANUSKY (singled across the go-ahead and eventual game-winning run.
A seven-run nightmarish ninth inning keyed by a two-run double by Anusky and a two-run single by catcher MIKE GODWIN (National Park, NJ/Gloucester Catholic) iced it for the Wildcats.
