ASSUMPTION 1, PACE 0

BRIARCLIFF, NY --- Senior goalkeeper LAUREN MATYSIAK (Holden, MA/Wachusett) made five saves to post her 30th career shutout leading Assumption College past Pace University, 1-0, in Northeast-10 Conference women's soccer action here WEDNESDAY.

The game-winning goal by junior defender ELISE HENNRIKUS (Fresno, CA/Clovis West) came with just 25 seconds remaining in the contest. Hennrikus took a nice feed from senior captain/forward ASHLEY MC MAHON (Bethel, CT/Immaculate) and soloed in on Setter's goalkeeper ALEXA D'AGOSTINO and beat her to the far post. The play was started as the Setters were whistled for a foul just outside the goalie box.

It was Hennrikus' first career goal.

The assist for McMahon was her 15th career assist, moving her into sole possession of ninth place on the Greyhounds' career list.

Matysiak, who already owns the Greyhounds' record book, now has 75 career games (first), 6860 career minutes (first), 304 saves (fourth), wins (39) (first), shutouts (30) (first), goals-against average (0.94) (first). Her seasonal goals-against average is now 1.25---among the leaders in the conference.

The Setters outshot the Greyhounds, 13-11, and the two teams each had five corner kicks.

The Greyhounds are now 4-11-1 overall and 3-10-0 in the conference, while Pace falls to 4-10-2 and 1-9-2.

Assumption completes its 2007 regular-season TUESDAY (October 23) as its hosts Northeast-10 Conference rival Stonehill College at 7 p.m. They will celebrate Senior Night before the game.
