WORCESTER, Mass. --- Junior guard BETH PLASSKI (Fall River, MA/Durfee) scored 25 points and sophomore forward KAYLA PARKER (Sanford, ME/Sanford) added 23 points as Assumption College rallied from a three-point halftime deficit to defeat Molloy College, 76-61, in the first round of the Courtyard by Marriott Classic FRIDAY at the Laska Gym.

In the first game Stonehill College led by four double-figure scorers eased past Concordia, NY, 83-37.

In Saturday's games, Stonehill (1-0) clashes with Molloy (0-1) at 1:30 p.m. and Assumption (3-1) plays Concordia (0-1) at 3:30 p.m. in the two day mixer-format tournament.

Molloy moved to a 29-26 halftime lead and increased their advantage to nine points, 40-31, as senior guard RANDI BENDER (North Bellemore, NY/Mepham) made a layup off a feed from sophomore forward KASIA PIETRAZAK (Swidwin, Poland/Spoleczive Liceum).

The Greyhounds were down 57-54 as sophomore guard KYMIRA WOODBERRY (Boston, MA/Newton) made a layup with 7:51 left. A 15-0 run spearheaded by Plasski --- 11 points including three successive three pointers --- put the Greyhounds in command, 69-57, with 3:22 left.

Plasski buried a top-of-the-circle three to tie the game on a feed from freshman guard MOLLY GRIFFITHS (Walpole, MA/Ursuline) and hit one from the right wing and a third from the left corner, both on assists from junior point TRISH GARDNER (Dartmouth, MA/Dartmouth, as the Greyhounds moved in front 63-57 with 5:39 remaining.

Griffith then hit a baseline jumper, Parker made two free throws and Plasski finished the run with a pair of free throws.

Playing well in a support role for the Greyhounds was senior forward/captain CHARDE FLOYD (Worcester, MA/Worcester Academy) with a double-double (her 26th career double-double and third this season), 10 points, 13 rebounds and a career-high seven steals and four assists. Gardner finished with five assists, three steals in a foul-shortened 22 minute stint.

Freshman guard KRISTEN MC WHIRTER (Melvin Village, NH/New Hampton) led Stonehill with 16 points and eight rebounds, while sophomore guard MEGAN METHVEN (Corning, NY/Corning Painted Post East) (15 points, 7 rebounds), junior forward KELSEY SIMONDS (Middleboro, MA/Cardinal Spellman) (11 points, 5 rebounds) and junior guard BETHANY TIGHE (North Easton, MA/Oliver Ames) (10 points, 8 rebounds) were also in double figures. Senior forward DANIELLE BACON (Levittown, NY/Molloy) had eight points to lead Concordia.

Stonehill bolted to a 43-16 halftime advantage holding Concordia to just .240 shooting from the floor (6-for-25).
