Greyhound volleyball defeats Saint Anselm and Stonehill in Stonehill College Tournament

EASTON, Mass. --- Freshman middle hitter AIMEE DRAINVILLE (Rockville, RI/Chariho) had 32 kills, freshman setter MARILISA STRAND (Sarasota, FL/Cardinal Mooney) added 16 kills and 98 set assists and senior/captain libero LAUREN RASWYCK (Litchfield, NH/Campbell) added 64 digs as Assumption College went 2-0 in the Stonehill College Tournament here SATURDAY at the Merkert Gym.

In the first match the Hounds defeated Saint Anselm (3-1), the second time this season they have beaten the Hawks, by game scores of 30-28, 26-30, 30-27 and 30-21. Drainville ended with a career-high 18 kills, while sophomore middle hitter COURTNEY STRATTON (Hudson, NH/Alvirne) ended with a career-high 15 kills and five blocks.

In the second match the Hounds swept past the host team Stonehill in a marathon five-game match: 23-30, 30-28, 27-30, 30-23 and 15-12. Strand had a career-best 10 kills and 53 assists, while junior outside hitter JENNA COSTIN (Lynnfield, MA/Lynnfield) tied her career-high with 13 kills.

The Greyhounds are now 9-3 overall and host Northeast-10 Conference rival Franklin Pierce TUESDAY. Saint Anselm is now 1-11 and Stonehill 3-10.
