Sarah Sullivan leads Greyhound volleyball past Molloy, 3-1

ROCKVILLE CENTER, NY --- Sophomore captain opposite SARAH SULLIVAN (Bourne, MA/Bourne) had a career-best 13 kills and a .591 hitting percentage to lead Assumption College past Molloy College in a non-conference women's volleyball match, 3-0, here SUNDAY at the Quealy Gymnasium.


Assumption, off to a fine start, is now 7-2 overall having won five of its last six matches. Molloy is now 5-6 overall. The Greyhounds dropped the first game of the match, 30-27, and then reeled off 30-17, 30-22 and 30-18 wins in the next three to dominate.

Freshman setter MARILISA STRAND (Sarasota, FL/Cardinal Mooney) continued her fine play with nine kills, a team-leading .533 hitting percentage, 42 set assists and nine digs. Sophomore middle blocker COURTNEY STRATTON (Hudson, NH/Mount Alvirnia, MA) added 12 kills (.409 percentage); senior captain libero LAUREN RASWYCK (Litchfield, NH/Campbell) contributed 13 digs and three service aces and sophomore defensive specialist KELLY BLUMENAUER (Islip Terrace, NY/East Islip) added 10 digs and five service aces.

Assumption is next in action Wednesday (September 19) when they travel to Merrimack College for a Northeast-10 Conference match. They play in the Stonehill College Tournament Saturday (September 22) against (non-conference matches) Saint Anselm and Stonehill.
