Greyhounds men's lacrosse rambles past Franklin Pierce, 15-7, in Northeast-10 Conference action

RINDGE, NH --- Five different players scored two goals as Assumption College defeated Franklin Pierce University, 15-7, in Northeast-10 Conference men's lacrosse action here SATURDAY.

Senior midfielder BRANDON MAC NEIL (Surrey, BC/Delta), freshman attack JOHN MURPHY (Walpole, MA/Bridgton Academy), junior midfielder MIKE MOLK (Danvers, MA/Danvers), junior attack KEVIN JURGENS (Needham, MA/Needham) and freshman attack NICHOLAS VIOLANDI (Duxbury, MA/Duxbury) each had a pair of goals for the Greyhounds who finished their season with back-to-back wins . . . having defeated American International College, 20-8, Thursday.

MacNeil completed a superb career with 25 goals and a team-record 70 assists for 95 points. Only Justin Cecil (1993, 95-96) (91-61--152) and Dave Ducey (1981-84) (62-38--100) finished with more career points.

The Greyhounds came out of the gate quickly moving to a 7-2 lead including a pair of goals by Murphy.

Also scoring for the Greyhounds were freshman midfielder JEFF MOORE (Worcester, MA/Saint John's), sophomore midfielder MATT REYNOLDS (Hamden, CT/Hamden), freshman midfielder ANDREW HAGGETT (Glastonbury, CT/Glastonbury), sophomore attack KEVIN KLASKIN (Norfolk, MA/Xaverian) and freshman attack GAETANO GAIMBROCCO (Leominster, MA/Saint Bernard's).

Junior midfielder JASON FLANIGAN (Shrewsbury, MA/Shrewsbury) led the Ravens with two goals.

The Greyhounds enjoyed a 43-20 margin shots and 31-20 in ground balls. They also won 16-of-23 faceoffs.

Senior defender ALEX IORIO (Needham, MA/Needham) and senior midfielder MATT KLASKIN (Norfolk, MA/Xaverian) each played in their team-record 57th game for the Greyhounds.

Senior goalkeeper made 10 saves in net for the Greyhounds, while freshman SHEA CAMPBELL (Centerport, NY/Centerport) and junior RYAN HULSE (Jackson, NJ/Jackson) shared duties for the Ravens and made 16 saves.

The Greyhounds completed their season at 4-11 overall and 2-8 in the conference, while Franklin Pierce is now 2-11 overall and 1-8 in the conference with their home final Sunday vs. Le Moyne College.
