Hounds football coach Cory Bailey resigns to enter business sector

January 3, 2008

WORCESTER, Mass. --- Cory Bailey, head football coach at Assumption College for the last four years, has resigned that position effectively immediately.

It is expected that Bailey will accept a position in the business sector within the next week as he changes his career focus.

"I would like to thank Cory for his service and work here at the College," said Ted Paulauskas, Director of Athletics. "He has attracted a significant number of student-athletes of the highest quality and built a program that rostered over 90 players and became competitive in the Northeast-10 Conference."

Bailey, who replaced Sean Mahoney in 2004 after serving on the staff for a year, has posted a 13-28 record with the Greyhounds winning four games in each of the last three seasons.

The Greyhounds finished 4-7 this past season winning their last three games. They defeated Division I-A LaSalle University (10-7) on the road, beat perennial conference powerhouse L.I.U.-C.W. Post (31-24) at home and finished with a 10-7 conference win at Pace.

Interested applicants can submit resumes and support materials to the Office of Human Resources, Assumption College, Worcester, MA.
