Michael Taylor was named Assistant Athletic Trainer in June of 2006.
Previous to his time at the college Michael served as an Assistant Athletic Trainer at Stonehill College in North Easton, MA. Primary athletic training duties while at Stonehill included men's ice hockey and women's softball teams. He also assisted in providing athletic training services for all intercollegiate athletes at the college.
Michael is also employed during the summer months at Doctor of Fitness All Access Fitness Academy as a Performance Enhancement Specialist. His duties include overseeing the strength and conditioning programs for nearby Shrewsbury High School.
Michael graduated from Bridgewater State College (Bridgewater, MA) in May of 2005 with a Bachelors degree in Physical Education, Athletic Training concentration. While working towards his degree he was employed as a rehab aide with Nova Care Rehabilitation Inc. In August of 2009 Michael completed his Masters of Science in Human Movement from the Arizona School of Health Sciences at A.T. Still University (Mesa, AZ).
He received his certification from the National Athletic Trainers Association Board of Certification in December of 2005, and is also a licensed athletic trainer in the state of Massachusetts. Michael is also recognized as a Performance Enhancement and Corrective Exercise Specialist by the national Academy of Sports Medicine. He is a member of the National Athletic Trainers Association, Athletic Trainers of Massachusetts, and the National Academy of Sports Medicine.
At Assumption he provides athletic training services primarily for women's field hockey, men's ice hockey, men's lacrosse, women's softball as well as assisting with the Greyhound football team. Michael also assists with the strength and conditioning program and is responsible for designing and overseeing the programs for ice hockey and women's softball.
Michael currently resides with his fiancee Julie in Moosup, CT.
