Jeremy Bonomo, assistant coach at Southern New Hampshire University for two years and a former standout player for the Penmen, was named the head men's soccer coach at Assumption College June 1, 2007. Bonomo served under Coach Dave Anderson at S.N.H.U. as the team advanced to the Northeast-10 Conference playoffs in both 2005 and 2006 and earned an N.C.A.A. Division II regional berth in 2006. He has also served as the Associate Director of the Nutmeg Soccer School (Manchester, NH) in 2005-06 and was a trainer/coach with the New Hampshire Classics (Bedford, NH) (a youth-oriented teaching organization) from 2004-06. He played a major role as a defender on teams that posted an impressive 62-14-10 record in his career (1998, 2000-02) including four Northeast-10 Conference playoff appearances and two league championships (2002, 2000). The team also advanced to three N.C.A.A. Division II tournaments and were ranked in the national top 20 four times. The Penmen reached the national final in 2002 and the national quarterfinal in both 1998 and 2000. He was the team captain in 2002 and earned third-team Northeast-10 Conference honors. He was the team Most Valuable Player in 2001. He was graduated from Southern New Hampshire cum laude with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration in 2002. He received his Masters in Business Adminstration with a certificate in Operations Management in 2006 also from S.N.H.U. He is a 1998 graduate of Pelham High and earned all-state honors in both soccer and basketball. He led the soccer team to a league championship as a senior. |
