Gary Patch completed his first season in 2007 with the Greyhounds leading them to a 13-11 record in his first season---best record in 19 years.

Patch is also the head coach of the successful Bancroft High School (Worcester, MA) volleyball program. Patch's varsity program broke the all-time Massachusetts state record for consecutive victories this season. This is still a current streak of 127 straight matches as the varsity team won it's 10th straight Eastern Independent League championship, and 5th straight NEPSAC (New England Preparatory Athletic Conference) championship. The high school team has compiled a 381-5 set (game) record during this streak.

He has also been a successful coach at the Junior Olympic level. In 2008 he coached the Metrowest-Gold 16-under team which finished ranked No. 1 in overall seeding out of 94 teams in New England. He also coached the 2006 New England High Performance Youth National Team. This year Patch is coaching the SMASH 17-under program which has won the Endicott Invitational and the Great Nor'Easter Tournament which hosted the best teams from all of New England and New York. His 17's team is currently in the open-gold division of the 18's age bracket.

As a standout player, he has played in the USVBA National tournament 10 times and finished as high as second in the outdoor-grass nationals sponsored by the USVBA, in San Jose, CA. He also has been the setter for the gold-winning men's masters team for the last five Bay State Games.
