H. LOUIS ROCHELEAU '24

Contributions

One of the great benefactors of the College, H. LOUIS ROCHELEAU '24 was known on a personal first-name basis by anyone who attended the College during his lifetime. He was referred to by all his friends as "Mr. Assumption," both for his devotion and work in the athletics domain and the academic world.

During his stay at the College as a student in the years encompassing 1910-20 when the school first started and few intercollegiate sport opportunities existed, Mr. Rocheleau participated in the role as a player or an organizer. He served as a student manager for both baseball and ice hockey throughtout his undergraduated years.

The role of manager in those days encompassed many more responsibilities in those days as the person served as scheduler, equipment purchaser and publicity person. He started the first men's tennis team and was its President, manager and captain.

The booster club always listed him with card No. 1 and he was awarded an honorary "A" for his contributions to the program.
