LOUIS P. L'HOMME '13 Baseball The premier pitcher of the first days of the Assumption College baseball team, LOUIE L'HOMME started and finished the first game in the College's (recorded) history on April 17, 1912. While that game ended in an 8-8 tie with the Sacred Heart Cadets, L'Homme showed signs of things to come with nine strikeouts. He was a junior in high school pitching for the College team. L'Homme started 15 games in his two-year career with the Blue & White (not the Greyhounds until 1933) and completed 14. He was 3-0 in his first year and followed with a 7-4 mark . . . only five pitchers in Hounds' history have won more games in a season. L'Homme was graduated from the Assumption College Prep School in 1913 and enrolled at Northeastern University. He was graduated from Northeastern and went on to medical school. |
